The Manor House has retained its thatch roofing and traditional Cape Duch elements. A fresh renovation has refined its comforts and brought more light through the open spaces of the home. Long winter lunches and fresh evenings will be spent gathered around the antique dining table in the kitchen, beside the large open fireplace. A snooker table sits upstairs in the loft for those fun, competitive moments away from the hub of the home. All of the accommodation units offer fully fitted kitchens, as well as braai areas giving you to the choice to either feast at home or at one of the many fabulous eateries in the village.

With all of its beautiful attributes, a wonderful aspect of Jardine de la Ferme is its accommodation offering. You are at liberty to stay as romantic individuals, escaping the city for the weekend, or gather as multigenerational families, occupying all of the units and farmhouses. In total, the farm accommodates as many as 34 guests, which makes it ideal for those special celebrations and events with all of your favourite people. There is soon to be a congregation space at the epicentre of the farm, where magical events and milestone celebrations can be held.

Jardine de la Ferme is in the making of becoming something truly unique to the Franschhoek Valley. Being a working farm with acres of vines, numerous water features and meandering walkways around the beautiful gardens, you’re likely to spend hours swimming, lounging on the long verandah with a good book, or having a picnic, under the trees, on the banks of the dams. For those that enjoy a slightly more active lifestyle, there are plenty of running and mountain biking trails around the Berg Mountains that begin from the doorstep.

The heart of the village is only a five-minute walk away. The fresh mountain air and rich scents of lavender escort you as you amble down the hill, along the tree-lined lanes towards the main road. There’s an abundance of gorgeous boutiques, patisseries, market stalls displaying the works of local artisans, art galleries, old bookshops and collectable stores. An amazing selection of some of the world’s finest wine estates, with their award-winning restaurants, sit on the outskirts of the village. As well as many historical landmarks and endless nature trails to explore. A very African landscape amidst a rather European cosmopolis, spending time in Franschhoek, is like spending time in an entirely unique part of the world. There is always so much to do, whether it be on the wine tram, tasting all of the grapes of the region, or enjoying a world class cuisine at a long lunch table under the trees, or simply relaxing in your own garden, on the farm.
