The owners were instantly drawn to this serene spot for its incredible location, sitting directly upon the fold of the crescent. There is no other property like it, that allows for such privacy, yet instant access to the water and occupying the most spectacular views. After adding their own touch to the build and turning it into a glorious family home, the property now stands completely independently, though still retaining the signature stone walls – which took two years to clad – that seamlessly blend into the landscape.

There are many elements to the home that have been restored and nurtured as the original design features, despite a new generation moving in! The home has consciously retained its existing footprint, as well as the infamous “Eel bar”.
A wonderful team of staff are onsite to ensure your holiday is catered to as much as possible. From housekeeping to landscaping, fire-building and meal preparations, time spent with your friends and family is paramount. Of the seven spacious bedrooms, some are Kings and others are Queens. There is a fun bunk room for the kids to enjoy, and a separate cottage with two additional bedrooms.

As much as the beautiful interior spaces create a sense of warmth and inspiration, from its lovely open areas to its refined style and inimitable comfort, it’s the outdoors that contribute hugely to the overall experience of the property. Its connection to the outside, leading the living spaces onto the large deck where the “Kol Kol” sits and the loungers and comfy outdoor seating is scattered around to maximise on the views of the expansive garden. The fabulous bar with its dart board. The Pizza oven. The fire-pit for those perfect, still evenings beside the water, watching the boats go by. The elevated, high deck that was built to create the feeling of resting on a pontoon.

There is so much to do on the river, the list of activities is endless. For all water fanatics, there’s wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing, SUPing, fishing and of course swimming. You can also visit the jumping rock for a bit of kloofing into the water. Or perhaps a drink and a catch up with the locals at the Bush Pub. There are also many nature trails for you to go exploring on, with a bird book and a hat. There’s something for everyone, whatever pace you’d like to move at.
